Day 3- Coventry & Chagrin

First Stop: Coventry Village

Located in the heart of Cleveland Heights, the downtown area of Coventry is full of cool shops and young energy. Having only been to coventry a handful of times in our lives, we were both pretty unfamiliar with the Coventry area before visiting this past week. When we first got there, we parked the car and got out to walk around. While Coventry is not located in the best area of Cleveland Heights, it is still safe to walk around the majority of the time; however, new rules have restricted anyone under the age of 18 to walk around at night without adult supervision. Neither of us felt threatened in any way, shape, or form while walking around, however it is still an area to keep guard while walking around alone. Full of popular restaurants, bars, shops, and galleries, we discovered so much that Coventry has to offer. Here are some examples of what Coventry is made up of:

Restaurants:  Mongolian Barbeque, Tommys, Daves Cosmic Subs, Chipotle, Grums Sub Shoppe, Guy's Pizza, and Pacific East

Bars & Nightclubs: B Side Liquor Lounge, City & East Hookah Bar, The Grog Shop, and Panini's

Stores: American Apparel, Big Fun, Coventry Cats, City Buddha, Record Revolution, and Next.

These examples are only a few out of the many attractions that Coventry holds. After walking through many of the stores and eating at Tommys (a restaurant that has some of the best milkshakes in town!), we both got a much greater sense of why so many young artsy people and couples live near Coventry. It is a spot where many high schoolers and local college kids hang out near- and the fun that Coventry has to offer makes the trip worth while.

Second Stop: Chagrin Falls

Today we also stopped by Chagrin Falls, which is a small town about a 40 minute highway drive outside of downtown Cleveland. Established in 1845, this small town is home to more than 4,000 people, one of which including Clare. This quant village is full of great restaurants, attractions, stores and historical sights. The most popular sights are the Popcorn Shop and the water fall that runs through the center of town. The Popcorn Shop is an old store that sells popcorn (obviously), candy, and ice cream. Today we stopped in there to take a look around and to purchase some of their famous popcorn!!

Since it was such a beautiful day outside, we also took a walk around for a couple of hours. We walked in and out of the many different stores in town, went down to take a look at the falls and walked through the park where the Chagrin JC's are starting to get ready for the annual Blossom Time Festivities which is coming up just next weekend!!! Every year in Chagrin during Memorial Day Weekend Chagrin has a Blossom Festival in the park with food stands, games, rides, and thousands of people. People from all over northeastern Ohio come to this festival throughout the weekend, which brings a very different mix of people from the usual upper-class/white Chagrin population. We will be going to Blossom next weekend- and we will let you all know how it goes!!!
